Jacinta just went to Cinque Terre, and her gorgeous photos make me want to hop on a plane. Wouldn't you love to be eating fried fish and jumping off rocks into the sea right about now? I can almost feel that refreshing, goose-pimply water.(Via Lost)

One of my dear friends was there last year. I'm with you ~ the photos are amazing. I wish I was there right now!
ReplyDeleteXO Piper
I hear it's a great trip!
ReplyDeleteAlso those photos would make great desktop backgrounds
It is even more beautiful than it looks... one of my fav destinations ever. My hubbie and I were there and stayed in Vernazza for our honeymoon. It is simply dreamy...
ReplyDeleteJo, that is simply such an amazing thing to do, I would love to travel to places as that and capture such great moments like those images shown! It's such a neat way than just standing there posing against the environment around you.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely be there in a heartbeat!
Lots of love!
Joanne
clever and so lovely!!
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect honeymoon destination, christine! i went with my sister during college, and again a few years ago for a work trip (believe it or not!) -- such an amazingly beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are delicious! I am going to close my eyes and pretend I am there right now, instead of in my little cube. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! A friend of mine loved it there. Hopefully one day :D
ReplyDeleteYou had me on the first photo...I would love to have a dip in that water....Such a cool images...Love her red nail polish...Btw: the red nail polish your mentioned before is great...I got it in a little ligher shade but its amazing:)
ReplyDeleteKisses and thanks, Joanna
ughhh i would love to go back to italy! i made it to the amalfi coast but never cinque terre. i would love to go!
ReplyDeleteI am going there in September!! Amazing...this just got me even more excited!
ReplyDeletexo,
Sara
I love Cinque Terre. I spent a week there a few years ago and relive the trip daily. Siiigh.
ReplyDeleteIf you hop on a plane, can I go in your carry on?
that looks so inviting...how i would love to be there!
ReplyDeletexox alison
no way, travels in heels!! so exciting. sept is the perfect month there!!!
ReplyDeleteI was there a few weeks ago, stopped off on the way from Roma to Nice. Had the freshest seafood linguine! Beautiful pics :)
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds so perfect. Why am I at work?
ReplyDeleteHow much friendlier those views with the floating toes than standard travel photos.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, looks wonderful! Maybe my office could send me :)?
ReplyDeleteAlso, the red polish there totally reminds me of your Essie recc! Such a classic.
Becca
I'd definitely want to be there!!
ReplyDeletewhat a clever idea to take the picture from that point of view..of course I would have to have a water proof camera, I'm so clumsy I would drop it in the sea.
ReplyDeleteI've been there and it's really really amazing! There are five lands that is connected by train and the walking trails are just heavenly. It was the best vacation ever!
ReplyDeleteCool! I'm going to Italy for my honeymoon in October, and Cinque Terre is already one of my stops. Can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteYES PLEASE!!
ReplyDeletehttp://ladulcivida.blogspot.com/
This sort of reminds me of my family's town of Lake Como.
ReplyDeleteIt is on my list of places to go...and soon!
ReplyDeletePete (my fiance) and I went to cinque terre on our post-college eurotrip and it was INCREDIBLE, one of our favorite stops on the tour...drinking wine and hiking is by far the most civilized way to hike...you have to go!
ReplyDeleteJust got back from hiking the Cinque Terre on my honeymoon several weeks ago! It's as fabulous as it looks. My photos are posted here: http://lovetulipsandtea.blogspot.com/2010/07/italy-part-2-cinque-terre.html
ReplyDeleteHands down, one of my favorite places I've traveled. Definitely worth a visit...or several!
ReplyDeleteI've been there (Spring 2003)! It was a DREAM! In one of the towns I laid on a boulder in the sunshine in the Mediterranean Sea! In another town I bought a Venetian Glass Ring for my mom! I ate gelato on a slanted street while an old man watched me from a window above! And I hiked about 5 hours between 2 of the towns. I LOVED it.
ReplyDeletei was there for a week last summer! it is INCREDIBLE.

love love love these photos. it's one of my favorite places on earth.
ReplyDeleteYou always make me want to travel! Sigh... maybe one day me and my husband will go on our honeymoon. You'd think after six years of marriage we would have found the time.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a lovely place... If you've already been then I can recommend Ponza, Ventotene and Procida, those islands are just amazing.
ReplyDeletei was there last year the food wine and scenery all so amazing madonna was there on a posh yacht too funny she didn't seem to want me to join her!
ReplyDeletewe then al hurtled up to venice for a long weekend of sensory overkill one of the best trips ever.
Cinque Terre is high on my list! Love it - so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo understand, I want to be on the next plane :)
ReplyDeleteItaly is my absolute fave! Never made it to Cinque Terre, but hope to soon! Thank you for sharing these gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my post on Kristen Farrell's jewelry. She even commented on the post herself! I got so excited.
XOXO Valerie

I have to say that it's heartwarming to read these comments from Italy. :) I live not far from Cinque Terre, which make them "normal", just everyday life in my experience, and to see them through your eyes make them special again, it's a change in perspective. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Cinque Terre! I tried to conquer the entire trail during a heat wave! We made it through four of the five towns before we finally deviated from the path and just jumped in the water to swim! haha! We took the train to the last town! I wish my D90 was waterproof!

So beautiful!

I was there last summer-it was gorgeous! My friend even convinced me to go skinny dipping-now there's a memory! Sneaking around in the dark with a really bad Italian band playing a concert on the beach as we tried to avoid detection while jumping in to the Mediterranean. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteso much better than a stupid gnome in every picture!!! I did the same thing in hawaii...all the different color sands...and the hues of burn my skin went through over a month :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! (:
ReplyDeleteI went to Cinque Terre a few years back, and I can assure you that it is as amazing as these photos make it seem.
ReplyDeleteIn a word: idyllic.
It is so funny you posted this today! My husband and I are planning our trip to Europe and I said that Cinque Terre is the one place I really, really want to go to! Love these photos!
ReplyDeleteThat's not a bad pedicure either!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm closing my eyes and work and envisioning myself floating in the water. Then shortly after, having a good glass of red wine.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are amazing!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://youngsophisticates.blogspot.com/
i love those pictures. what a cute idea to have different pictures in different areas with the same subject or idea. i love it! these made my day!
ReplyDelete♥ allisterbee.blogspot.com
I love these toe photos! What a clever idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a little envious that I'm not there right now...
I just got back from the cinque terre too! It was incredible, really the mist perfect place in the world. I have a few pictures of our three days there up on my blog: http://getaneyepatchman.wordpress.com/2010/08/04/perfect/
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images... I know where I need to be right NOW!!
ReplyDeleteawwwww, I went there on my honeymoon almost a year ago! So nice! Hiking to all five village was one of our favorite parts of two week trip around Italy.
ReplyDeletemmmm, oh yes, I even like saying it...soo sexy. I love her feet photos too, I do the same thing, I need to remember to paint my toes red next time!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Cinque Terre; it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. It's a wonderful mix of good food, good wine, and good hiking, aka the trifecta of vacation spots (personally).
ReplyDeleteI didn't get to take a vacation this summer, so this sounds amazing!! :)
ReplyDeleteI went there about five years ago and it the most wonderful place! So so beautiful. You must go! :)
ReplyDeleteI want to be there!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteRiomaggiore! I swear if the camera had been angled just a titch to the left in the first shot, you would see the window of the apartment my husband and I stayed in for a week 4 years ago. My husband proposed to me there (on the beach not in the apartment).
ReplyDeleteWe love Italy so much. We can't wait until we can take our son, born in April, to swim in the Mediterranean.
I've been there every time I've traveled to Italy - so 3 times and it's still marvelous. You should definitely put it on your list!
ReplyDeletewhew! That's looking REAL good right about now... I don't know about the rest of you, but New York has been so hot & humid this summer. I'm ready for a cool sea & Cinque Terre anytime now:)
ReplyDelete* Ooh! I was just in Cinque Terre two months ago! It was lovely. Unfortunately, it had been pretty rainy so the hiking trails were closed, but we made a great time out of it! The happy & bubbly Italians during the World Cup matches, the seafood, the shopping... It was fabulous! You can read about it & see my photos on my blog! * ♥
ReplyDelete* http://donandamanda.blogspot.com *
Man what fun photos...I spent a summer on the Italian riviera and i wish I had taken more photos like this. I loved how soft and refreshing the water is there...and the sun there gives you the best tan.
ReplyDeletemost romantic getaway!!! Loved it when I went in 2005 and can't wait to take my husband with me on an anniversary trip!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you blogged about Cinque Terre just before my vacation to... Yep! Lucky me. Time to put some nail polish on my toes, I believe. ;)
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to study abroad in Italy during college and one weekend we all went to Cinque Terre...so so worth all the waitressing I had to do when I got back to pay my parents back for all my study abroad traveling! If you don't eat the pesto while you are there you are insane!
ReplyDeletelove this!
ReplyDeleteI was just in Italy for four months and I took a trip up to Cinque Terre. We were there for 27 hours (took two night trains to and from Rome and slept in the stations!). It was incredible. The best pesto I will ever have was at Da Billy in Manarola. The hikes were beautiful and so was napping on the beach afterward! . . . Remind me why I left again? Great post!
ReplyDeletePs. On the very end of Riomaggiore there is a beach and on a big, flat, rock someone sketched a game board. When you go, look for it and make up your own game on a rocky beach in Italy. Not too shabby!
i had the opportunity to travel to cinque terre with my boyfriend, brother and sister. it was magical. the cities wow-ed me one after another. this pictures were such a refresher for a busy week!
ReplyDeleteI went in June of 2006 and it is the most amazing day hiking trip I've ever been on. The landscape is breathtaking and when I remember being in the towns, they feel as though they were something out of a dream they were so perfect. I can't wait to go back someday with my husband and hike and spend more time there!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever perspective to these photos!
ReplyDeleteOh we know loads of people from there! beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I see a post a day about Cinque Terre...I now desperately need a trip there :)
ReplyDeleteawsome photos!
ReplyDeleteCinque Terre is just one of the world's best place - it is on my list for yrs now.

What beautiful pictures!! I often dream about spending a couple of weeks adventuring all around Italy, and the Cinque Terre is at the very top of the list!

Now that sounds just lovely
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures and great destination! I haven't been to Cinque Terre yet, but I'm just coming back from Trieste, on the opposite side of the Italian peninsula (and my boyfriend and I have a couple of restaurant and bakeries to suggest if you are interested!)
ReplyDeleteJo-
ReplyDeleteMegan and I actually went there together in 2006. We were venturing around Europe and some local Italians told us it was THE place to go in the area. It has been our favorite place on earth ever since - a MUST see, it's even cuter in person!! When I saw your post today, I couldn't believe it because no one has ever heard of the place state side! Once Toby gets bigger, you must go!!
Talk to you soon!
xoxo,
Amy
Cinque Terre is the best and these pictures represent it beautifully...I am now dying to go back!!
ReplyDeleteWe went there 2 years ago & it is Ah-maz-ing! These pics are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAh - Cinque Terre is absolutely breathtaking. It's the perfect combination of sea & sand. The food - perfection. Oh - and I love the laundry hanging from strings across the buildings. The hikes between villages are pretty sweet too. These pictures are indeed gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHappy travels!
-Jordana
Take me there now!!!!!!!!! With cute nails and everything!
ReplyDeleteI was there 2 weeks ago and fell in love with the place... luckily I live only 5 hours away so will be heading back soon!
ReplyDeleteI'll be sharing the photos on my blog soon, we are doing a post on each city in Italy we visited :-)
Hi!! From my point of view, Cinque terre, Portofino & Tiguillo Coast are the most magical european destinations. Absolutely beautiful!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite places in the world. Our best friends got married in Vernazza - it was like being on a film set.
ReplyDeleteI was there at the end of June, in the exact same village, which is called Riomaggiore. Our apartment was actually almost visible from that first photo. I'm totally still there in my mind.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have been there and it IS UH_MAZE_ING! I think everyone must go there atleast once in their lives to make it complete.
ReplyDeleteoh my.. that looks perfect. I wish those were my legs in the water
ReplyDeleteThis is at the top of my list of places to go! Always has, always will be... I want to hike to each village and experience it in its fullest!
ReplyDeletewhat a cute way of documenting your travels! what happens when she visits somewhere and doesn't take a dip, though? just lay on the ground and snap a photo of her feet in the same position?
ReplyDeletei stayed in riomaggiore and i loved it!
ReplyDeleteI was there 2 years ago and it was sooo amazing. Delicious food ( I heard it's where Pesto was originated). I actually ended up staying there longer than planned b/c I didn't want to leave!
ReplyDeleteI visited about 10 years ago and the 5 towns remain my favorite place int he world. It was quiet, unknown, and uniquely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these photos...
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I still can't get over my "Jaws" fears... even if I'm in a body of water that could not possibly contain a shark.
These are so niceee. anythings better than english weather right now
ReplyDeleteBeautiful I love Cinque Terre. When I went however it was too cold to swim, I really want to go back in the summer. I love the photos that you took and the idea to put your feet in each one.
ReplyDeleteI love all the photos that you post. But what I really love about those photos is how you captured those images. It is a very unique way to capture beautiful photos. Your feet make those pictures more attractive.

ReplyDeleteI took a daytrip from Florence to Cinque Terre in late June last year and just happened to be there during a festival. The streets were littered with hydrangea blossoms. It was surreal.
ReplyDeleteI went there when I was 12 and I looooved it, especially the pesto ;) My favorite beach in the world!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing a nice article.
