Pools!

Can you believe we're only one day away from September?! This summer flew by. To keep the summery mood going, here are 8 incredible pools around the world…Have you been to any? Which one would you want to dip into?

From top: Berlin, Victoria Falls on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe (see more insane photos here), Singapore, Portugal, Chile, Sydney, Utah and Bali.

  1. Those pools are cool...the second one looks kinda scary like you can just fall off a cliff or something. Nice post I'd rather be relaxing there than at home. RoRos World

  2. The one from Victoria Falls is terrifying! I'm afraid of heights and open water; it would be a nightmare for me! I might be able to handle the last one though..

  3. Great post! I kind of think I'm not that well traveled but I was surprised to realise that I've been to three of these pools, Bondi, Singapore and Bali. (I live in Australia). We used to have a children's pool right on the beach (http://www.abc.net.au/wa/stories/s1255730.htm) but it stopped being filled in the late 90s. I loved it. You can't beat the ocean but there is something poetical about pools. Something about how mankind strives to recreate the ocean, fails but creates something else entirely beautiful!

  10. The summer has definitely gone too quickly. I've gone swimming a grand total of once. :-( Any of those pools looks amazing, but I think I'd be too scared to go in the ones in Victoria Falls or Bali!

  11. AMAZING! I'd take a trip to any of those! Yes, sadly summer has gone way too fast. And I was fortunate enough to travel to Ghana, Nigeria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria this summer!! I need more time! (and money)

  12. Victoria Falls? Nooo...nooooooooooo. I would rather not be so close to death while swimming. The other ones are STUNNING (and perfectly harmless), however. Amazing.

  13. My husband and I went swimming in one at Manly Beach this summer! It was surprisingly warm(ish). The water was calm and perfectly salty.

  14. Wow! These are so incredible! I think the second one would give me a heart attack though.

  15. Second-to-last. But in these last few weeks of summer I'm probably equally happy filling up the baby pool & letting my two little ones splash around while I sit in it with them! (A cold beer doesn't hurt, either ;)

  19. I've been to Vic Falls. That is not a real swimming pool though ... they are swimming dangerously close to the edge. We saw others doing this when we were there. I would never bring kids that close!

  21. The coolest "pool" I ever swam in was in the Yucatan, Mexico. The entire area is filled with cenotes, openings in the ground revealing the groundwater below. It was amazing! Where sunlight pierces the water, there are beautiful ecosystems teeming with life. You couldn't tell it from the surface, but in places, especially away from the sunlight, the water was really deep. It disappeared into darkness and was very spooky.

Haha, long comment, but I am still reeling from the experience. It was indescribable.

  22. This is right in my field. All of these are amazing. I live in norway and swim almost daily (during the summer) at an outdoor pool right on the fjord (nordnessjobad-bergen norway). So just a tip if you`re in Bergen, Norway check out the pool on the fjord.
It`d be hard to choose between these, but my top choice would be Bali and Victoria falls. Love the idea of feeling like you`re at the end of the world. And then Utah and chile would also be amazing!!!

  23. I've been to the one in Portillo, Chile...two summers ago on a ski trip! It was truly amazing and some of the best skiing of my life!

  24. Oh wow, the one on the falls.. terrifying!

If I could add one more, a few summers ago I visited Miette Hot Springs in Jasper, Alberta, Canada.. it was breathtaking!

  51. My best friend and I studied abroad in South Africa during college and happened to be at Victoria Falls during September. We had a BLAST swimming in Devil's Pool, and it wasn't nearly as scary as it should have been to sit on the edge of Victoria Falls! What was scarier was our parents' reactions when we told them about it!

  52. Wow! The second pool is so “defying gravity”! Since I enjoy thrills and challenges, I would definitely love to plunge into that naturally made pool. These days, all I see are innovative designs. For me though, nothing will beat nature’s beauty. The photos shown in this blogs will not only inspire home owners but pool services Desert Hot Springs as well to come up with similar ideas like the ones you have shown here. Great post!

  53. Whoaaa! These pools are astonishing! I just wanted to jump and take a swim immediately after seeing these photos. The one I would love to dip into is the amazing pool on the last photo. Aside from the fact that its shape is unique, I love its green and refreshing surroundings. Every special occasion would be fun to celebrate with in a place like this.
